Replacement of the control unit, relay and glow plugs in the Garage car service
Garage Auto Service recommends checking the glow plugs of your diesel car. If you do not have the necessary experience, our specialists will check and, if necessary, replace the control unit, relay or glow plug. This is important if you want your car to always start correctly. We service cars, light trucks and vans of all makes.
Why is a replacement needed?

With the air temperature dropping and frost coming, owners of diesel cars may face an unexpected problem: in the morning the car will not start. A common cause of this is a faulty glow plug. Although there were no frosts in Moldova for a long time, the car could stop starting even due to sub-zero temperatures. It doesn't matter if your car is used or new. Glow plugs fail everywhere.

When to replace glow plugs?

According to the manufacturer's recommendations, on average they should be changed every 60,000 km - 100,000 km. Sometimes they last longer than this period, but it is better not to wear them out completely. The problem is that over time, the glow plug can stick well to where it sits and it can be very difficult to get it out of there. Therefore, it is also recommended to unscrew them from there and screw them in every six months, even if you are not going to replace them.

Replacing the Glow Plug Relay

The purpose of the relay is to ensure the safe start of the diesel engine in cold weather. The principle of operation is to close / open the electrical circuit, which includes the candles themselves. Therefore, when the car does not want to start on a frosty morning, the problem may be not only in the spark plugs, but also in the relay.

Despite the apparent ease of operation, care must be taken when replacing the relay. Due to improper connection, the spark plugs simply will not work. Therefore, it is better to trust the experts.

Replacing the glow plug control unit

The glow plug control unit ensures stable operation of the spark plugs, which causes the engine to start at sub-zero temperatures. There is only one control unit in the engine, so if it does not work, then you are unlikely to be able to start the car.

Block, candles and relays must fit both your car and each other. Unsuitable or low-quality parts can lead to costly subsequent repairs. In our car service, the masters will help you choose high-quality components from good materials that will last the entire prescribed period.
